BE PART OF THE COMMUNITY ACTION PLAN 2025-30

My Cowdenbeath are seeking input from the community to help them create the new Cowdenbeath Community Action Plan for 2025-30.

The development group are hoping local residents and organisations will drop-in to events being held at the Maxwell Centre in September, sharing ideas and suggestions for improvements to the town over the next 5 years.

Events are scheduled for:

Wed 4th Sept, 6pm til 8pm

Mon 9th Sept, 6pm til 8pm

Wed 11th Sept, 6pm til 8pm

Sat 14th Sept, 1pm til 3pm

Comments and suggestions will be split across 4 key themes for the new Action Plan, with local residents able to vote on ideas previously shared with the group through the Cowdenbeath Community Research conducted in 2023, available to read here. New ideas and suggestions will also be welcome, with local residents encouraged to take part online or in person.

The 4 themes for the 2025-30 Action Plan will be:

  • Town Centre
  • Neighbourhoods
  • Parks, Green Spaces & Leisure
  • Culture & People

Director of My Cowdenbeath, Vicky Kinloch, said she hope locals will step forward to get involved.

“We’re really keen to update the plan and provide some realistic projects over the next 5 years which can help improve areas of the town for everyone to enjoy. There are some fantastic groups and organisations working in the community and they have lots of ideas and we know from the community survey we ran last year, that local people want to see improvements to the town centre and local neighbourhoods. By working together we can achieve great things, whether it’s improved playparks for our kids or small things like more bins for dog walkers. Come along and share your thoughts and ideas!”

Ideas might include developing a new playpark in a particular area, artwork or murals to brighten up a corner of your neighbourhood, more bins to help keep our streets clear of rubbish and dog poo, or maybe some benches to allow folk to sit and relax in our parks and open spaces?

The plan covers a period of 5 years so we would hope the ideas can be realistically delivered within that time frame, with funding from external partners to help bring about the small changes people want to see in the area.

A previous Community Action Plan ran from 2019-24, which was developed by Coalfields Regeneration Trust and is available to view here.

You can leave some feedback or suggestions below for the 2025-30 Action Plan, which will be read by the My Cowdenbeath team and fed into the final draft.
