There was plenty festive cheer in Cowdenbeath on Saturday with local singers Soul Accord joining My Cowdenbeath for their annual Christmas Fayre at the Masonic Hall.
Ladies from the singing group brought lots of smiles with their Christmas songs, bringing some extra sparkle to the event. The group, which meets weekly in the Trinity Church in Cowdenbeath, is led by local entertainment legend, Elaine Green and they certainly entertained those who dropped into the market.
Stuart Duffy from market organisers, My Cowdenbeath, said:
“The ladies did a brilliant job and really brought the festive spirit to Cowdenbeath today! A huge thank you to Elaine and everyone for coming along and giving us some wonderful songs, we’ve all really enjoyed it. The traders and stallholders work hard all year round to bring creative, original products for people and it was great to see them all singing along with the Soul Accord singers too.”
More than 30 individual traders or local small businesses have attended the monthly markets in Cowdenbeath since they were launched in September, with the Lodge Thane of Fife providing a suitable venue in the town centre for the new development.
Stuart continued, “We hope folk in Cowdenbeath have enjoyed the monthly indoor market and the range of fantastic stallholders who’ve come to the town. We appreciate all their hard work to create products for people to buy and hopefully they’ve provided something a little different to what’s been available in our busy High Street. We’ll regroup in the new year and look at whether we can commit to continue them in 2025. Until then we want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!”
