MY COWDENBEATH is all about creating opportunities to improve Cowdenbeath for those who live here, work here or visit our town.
We work with a range of partners and individuals to make these improvements happen. Click below for more information about some of our work.
Current Projects
Community Action Plan
Have your say on town improvements as we create a new Community Action Plan for Cowdenbeath. We”ll have’ve held open days at the Maxwell Centre on 4th, 9th, 11th & 14th September so everyone has a chance to take part.
Public voting on the final action plan projects opened on 1st October and ran until 31st October 2024.
This project is part-funded by the Mossmorran Wind Farm Fund via Cowdenbeath Community Council microgrants.

New Noticeboards
Communication on local issues was rated poor by a significant proportion of local residents in our Community Research and we’re helping address that with some new noticeboards planned around the town.
Look out for their installation over the coming months at key points around the town.
This project is part-funded by 4 Winds.
Completed Projects

Workshops Memorial Cairn 2025
Work to commemorate the incredible contribution of the people who worked at the Cowdenbeath NCB Central Workshops was completed in June 2025 by a small group of local people.
As part of the organising group, we supported by sourcing £1,000 in funding to create the cairn on the site of the former workshops in Seco Place.
This project was funded by Fife Council’s Culture Grants and 4 Winds.
Safe Drinking Kits 2024
Building on the success of the Winter Drink Safe Packs pioneered by our local Police Scotland colleagues in the Cowdenbeath area, testing strips will be made available throughout the pubs and social clubs in the area thanks to funding from Fife Council.
More more information or to stock the test strips just email: info@mycowdenbeath.scot
This project is funded by Fife Council’s Cowdenbeath Area Committee.

Civic Week Heritage 2023-24
Our new Civic Heritage project launched in July 2023 to create a new archive for Cowdenbeath Gala and Civic Week.
Our aim is to gather thousands of pictures and videos from people in the town to create a new website – a real walk down memory lane – whilst gathering information about our Gala Queens, Princesses and Citizens of the Year over the past 40+ years.
This project is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund Scotland.
Small Business Indoor Market 2024
Following a successful trial indoor market using the Masonic Hall in Cowdenbeath in September 2024, the group have confirmed 3 more dates for the remainder of the year.
The monthly market gives local small businesses the opportunity to engage with customers who may not be aware of their products or services.
For info or to book just email the team: info@mycowdenbeath.scot

Dalbeath Warm Welcome 2023-24
From December 2023 until March 2024 our Warm Welcome space was open every Friday at the Trinity Church in Sinclair Drive.
The group was a social space where locals were welcome to attend for free and enjoy a cuppa, some activities and a hot meal.
This project was funded by Fife Council.
Community Reseach 2023
To help us understand what works well in Cowdenbeath and what might need improved in the future, we’re running a comprehensive Residents and Business Survey.
Through an online and paper survey, as well as information stalls in the High St, we’ll build a picture of what the priorities of local people are.
This project is funded by 4 Winds SCIO and Maxwell Centre Advisory Group.
